Workspaces, collections, relationships, and connected business data
How Amitable turns separate business objects into a navigable system of connected records.
Read in another language: RUThe useful part of business data is often the connection between two records. An order matters because it belongs to a customer. A repair matters because it belongs to a vehicle and produces an invoice. A project matters because people and tasks move it forward.
A workspace is a working boundary
Each workspace can represent a team, client, business area, or project. It has its own collections and members, so the people working on one process can focus on the data they actually need.
This boundary also makes access easier to reason about. Inviting someone to one workspace does not imply that they should see every other workspace.
Collections describe the objects
A collection describes one kind of document: customers, orders, equipment, projects, or any other object a team needs to track. Fields can be added and reordered as the model develops. A CSV import is a practical starting point, but a collection can also be created from scratch.
The system supports text, numbers, dates, toggles, and references. Records can be edited directly, which means a small correction does not require exporting, fixing, and importing an entire dataset again.
References preserve meaning
References connect records without copying the same information into several tables. A simple process might look like this:
Customer → Order → Product → Payment → DeliveryAs the process changes, new collections and relationships can be added. The model stays visible in the interface instead of living only in a set of undocumented spreadsheet conventions.
Explore the connected system
Once the records and relationships are in place, search and filters make the system useful day to day. AI can help turn a question into a filter, while a chart preview can help compare the records in the current collection.
The result is not a fixed template. It is a structure the team can shape around its own work, starting with one process and extending it when the next connection becomes valuable.
